Minutes of the 2024 AGM
The Winter Meeting and AGM at Worplesdon was extremely well attended, despite the heavy rain that made for a challenging morning on the golf course. Congratulations to Chris Hyland, whose score of 36 points was enough to claim the spoils – for a full report please click here.
After presenting the prizes for the Winter Meeting, Royds Trophy, Royds Plate and Scorange, Captain Ed Glover called the AGM to order.
Apologies were received from Andy Byrd.
The Captain asked for a show of hands to approve a new set of rules for the Society, which was carried by a unanimous vote.
He thanked the membership for supporting his chosen charity, the Evelina London Transplant Games Fund, and confirmed that donations worth £1,928 had been made to support their work.
He then proposed Jon Davie as 2024 captain, and the appointment was approved by the membership.
The new captain addressed the meeting and asked the membership to confirm the appointment of Niel Bornman as vice captain and Andy Byrd as Chairman. Both appointments were approved, as was the re-election of the committee and the addition of two new committee members in Emma Robbins and Philip Hunt.
The captain then talked through the 2024 fixture list, including a new fixture against the SW1GS at West Hill and a new venue for our match against the NAGs in Walton Heath. He confirmed that the overnight tour to Prince’s in Kent would take place on September 19/20.
There were no further agenda points and the meeting was closed.
